1. Purpose
Rig-Zone Academy (“RZA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) uses text (SMS) messaging to deliver timely information about training schedules, exam logistics, certification results, safety alerts, account notifications, customer care, and delivery notifications, and occasional promotional offers related to our NCCER-accredited crane-rigging programs. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information obtained through our SMS channels. By registering, you agree to receive SMS messages from us regarding course updates and registration information. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all SMS messages we send or receive in the United States. It supplements our general Privacy Policy. By opting in to our SMS program, you agree to the practices described here and to comply with applicable laws such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA guidelines.
3. Information We Collect
Contact Data: Mobile phone number, name (if provided) – provided by you during course registration, web form, or keyword opt-in.
Message Content: Questions you text us, confirmations, survey responses – generated by your interactions.
Usage Data: Delivery receipts, timestamps, message frequency, carrier info, device country code – collected automatically by our SMS platform.
We do not collect sensitive personal identifiers (e.g., Social Security numbers) via SMS.
4. How We Use Your Information
1. Operational Messaging – class reminders, schedule changes, exam IDs, credential updates, weather or safety alerts.
2. Support – responding to your inquiries or troubleshooting requests.
3. Marketing (optional) – course promotions, discounts, or new program announcements only if you have given explicit consent.
4. Compliance – maintaining audit trails required by NCCER, OSHA, or accrediting bodies; detecting spam or misuse.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Consent: You opt in via keyword, checkbox, or written agreement.
Legitimate Interests: To deliver essential training services and maintain credential integrity. Legal Obligation: Records retention mandated by NCCER or government regulations.
6. Opt-In & Message Frequency
Opt-In: You must affirmatively subscribe. Typical methods include texting a keyword (e.g., “RZA”) or checking an SMS consent box during enrollment.
Message Frequency: You will receive account alerts and promotional messages. Message frequency varies, but you may receive up to 4 messages per month.
Message & Data Rates May Apply per your mobile carrier plan.
7. Opt-Out / Help
Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. We will confirm your unsubscribe and cease non-transactional texts.

8. Data Sharing

•• Customer data is not shared with 3rd parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
• Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.
We do not transfer your data to any external organizations under any circumstances, even with your consent.
9. Security
We employ TLS/HTTPS dashboards, role-based access, and multi-factor authentication with our SMS gateway. While SMS itself is not end-to-end encrypted, our internal systems protect stored data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
10. Data Retention
Operational SMS logs are retained for 24 months to satisfy NCCER audit requirements and then securely deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law or dispute resolution.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our services target adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect SMS data from children under 13. Parents who believe a child has provided a mobile number may contact us for deletion (see Section 13).
12. International Users
Our servers are in the U.S. If you text us from outside the U.S., you consent to transferring your information to the United States, where privacy laws may differ.

14. Changes to This Policy
